Geography
Park County encompasses 5,233 square miles or 3,349,120 acres of land, making it the fifth largest county in the State of Wyoming. Only 23% of the land is privately owned, the rest under state or federal control. Part of Yellowstone National Park is within its boundaries, and the majority of Shoshone National Forest lies inside the county borders. A section of Bridger-Teton National Forest is also in Park County.
Cities and Towns in the County
Park County, WY has a number of communities, both large and small. The largest are Cody, Meeteetse and Powell. Unincorporated towns within the county are Clark, Garland and Ralston as well as Wapiti. The western part of Frannie is within Park County. Ghost towns also dot the Park County landscape, including Kirwin, Marquette and Arland.
Population
Park County has the ninth largest population in Wyoming. In 2005, the population was 26,664. The 2008 estimate is 27,574.
