A cozy cabin, a historical lodge or private vacation home are all choices to consider when planning your stay in Wyoming's gem known as Cody. Aside from the usual amenities, ecotourism efforts should also be an attribute we look for in a lodging property. A business that takes care of its surroundings is one that will make a lasting impression on its guests, not its environment.
The Yellowstone Gateway community has a vast variety of options to please everyone from the first timer to the seasoned traveler that returns year after year to the place that has captured their heart. The accommodation choices may vary between the two groups but what should be a common factor between the two should include sustainable policies and programs. Some of the most common sustainable practices that we see in most properties vary from a linen reuse program, to recycling programs and paperless communication and billing. But a true ecotourist knows that they can do more. Many companies looking to preserve and sustain the natural beauty of the area offer programs such as carbon offset programs, refillable toiletries, eco friendly development and energy efficiency. Do your homework when looking for a lodging choice and above all consider one that educates not only their guests but their staff about sustainable practices.
Lodging is one of the largest industries in the world where amenities exceed all else. The companies promoted on our Ecotourism pages have met a minimum of 10 guidelines from the set standards list and has been approved following an onsite inspection. We are pleased to promote their conservation efforts.
