The Cody Wild West Days are held in Cody, Wyoming, every year, bringing back memories of the old Wild West days when barrel races and horse sales were a major event. In fact, it not only draws in interested horse buyers and sellers, but many curious locals and tourists.
Curiosity and fun are what the Cody Wild West Days are about. Held in the downtown area of Cody, Wyoming, locals, tourists, horse lovers, horse sellers and horse buyers gather together for a day of everything horse-like. In fact, the best part of the event for many is the famed barrel races.
The official event is only a decade old, but is reminiscent of the city's historical past. As it began as a cowboy town thanks to the famous cowboy, Buffalo Bill, the art of horse selling and buying has not been forgotten. In fact, the event has given rise to many other activities across the city, including vendors coming out to display their wares, restaurant and cafe foods being produced on the city streets, all for purely entertainment purposes.
Entrance into the sale is free unless one is bringing a horse. It is a great place for families with kids and a fun day for everyone to learn about the horse livestock trade that is still very prevalent across the state.
