X-Country Ski Sleeping Giant
Cross Country Skiing at Sleeping Giant Ski Area
If you want quiet trails, beautiful vistas, wildlife viewing, moderate temperatures, little wind, easy terrain, and good snow; Sleeping Giant is for you. With 35 km of groomed trails, skating lanes, and diagonal tracks, our ski area offers you the ultimate experience in enjoyable cross-country skiing.
You can ski from November to May on our carefully groomed cross-country trail system. And if you want to explore even more country, our trail system connects to Pahaska and then to Yellowstone Park. The opportunities for cross-country skiing in our area are limitless.
Sharing the trail is a variety of wildlife: snowshoe hares, deer, elk, moose, big horn sheep, grizzly bears, mountain lions, mink, otter, golden and bald eagles, hawks, squirrels, snow and Canadian geese, trumpeter swans, wolves, and beaver.
There aren't many places that can offer the photographic possibilities that we do! Imagine skiing along the Northfork of the Shoshone River through evergreen forests and vast snowy meadows.
You'll be skiing at an elevation of 6600 - 6800 ft. on our trail system.
We rent cross-country skis and boots for $10/day. Ask about our multi-day or season rates as well.
Lessons for beginning, intermediate, and advanced skiers are available. Call to schedule, please.
