When visiting Cody, WY, rodeo is essential. The Cody Stampede Rodeo is the hottest ticket in town July 4th weekend. The Cody Stampede is the premier rodeo event in the Rodeo Capital of the World and is a crown jewel of the rodeo season which runs nightly from June through August.
With big purses and the best cowboys and cowgirls from across the United States and beyond, the Cody Stampede has earned the name "Cowboy Christmas" by many in the rodeo circuit. The event is a true Western rodeo, featuring bareback riding, steer wrestling, tie down roping, saddle bronc riding, team roping, barrel racing and bull riding.
